From a young age, Elaine has felt an undeniable pull towards creative expression, a journey that first found its voice through the lens of a camera. Roaming the landscapes of New Zealand – its snow-covered mountains, blue lakes, and lush green forests – became both her muse and her subject. Her photography captured not just scenes, but the very spirit of these places, leading to numerous successful projects.
Today, Elaine's artistic exploration takes a more introspective turn as she revisits these cherished photographic memories. Through a distinctive mixed-media approach, she breathes new life into these moments, allowing her painter's hand to further explore the nuances of detail, the poetry of balance, and the enduring stories held within the heart of nature. Above: "George" We found this bird, whom we named George, with a broken wing. He allowed us to care for him, for example, by catching fish each day for him to eat, a dog biscuit or two and fresh water. Every morsel of food he would wash in the bowl of water before he ate. He taught us a lot.
